Places We Like

Places to Eat
Giancarlo’s Sports Bar on Commercial Street has the best coffee in Vancouver, according to Carlos. And Yin likes the tuna sandwiches made by their mother.

Peaceful Restaurant serves authentic Chinese food on Broadway and Main. We especially like their homemade Dan Dan Noodles and house roll. Get the hand-dragged noodles.

Gelateria Dolce Amore has sells hundreds of ice cream and gelato flavours. There are several types of rice flavours. You get unlimited tries which means by the time you decide on a flavour to buy, you have already eaten equivalent to a dish.

Guu is the best izakaya experience in Vancouver. We assume they yell at us to say “hello” and yell at us to say “goodbye” but we cannot be sure. They continuously change their small plate specialties.

Shiro serves the best sashimi in Vancouver with fresh wasabi.

Places to Go
Granville Island Public Market has interesting stores, like the hat store. There are plenty of ready-to-eat items such as moose or deer sausage and fresh-out-of-the-oven bagels. Live music in the summertime.

The Seawall at Stanley Park provides magnificent panoramic views of mountain and ocean. This was the location of one of our first dates. We especially like to watch the swans in Lost Lagoon.

Queen Elizabeth Park hosts beautiful gardens. There are many exotic birds, plants, and flowers in the Biodome.

Cleveland Dam/Salmon Hatchery/Capilano Regional Park is a great easy hike. Park at Cleveland Dam in North Vancouver, walk to the Salmon Hatchery (stairs before the dam), and explore the trails to the south of the Salmon Hatchery. Transit accessible. Map
